About the Troubadour Foundation

The Troubadour Foundation was established in 2007 by a small group of people who had enjoyed many folk music festivals and wanted to help keep Australia's folk culture alive.

The Foundation was founded with the mission to "Provide assistance and encouragement for the sustainability of Australian folk culture".

Initial funding for The Troubadour Foundation came in the form of a bequest from the initial group and since then further funds have been raised through donations and the Foundation's own fundraising, including proceeds from the Festival Folk sing series of CDs.

The Troubadour Foundation has assisted up-and-coming folk artists with the production of CDs and with travel assistance. The Foundation has also assisted folk in hardship and a range of folk community projects.
